First Look Photo: Another Angle

April 12, 2017

The Portland Headlight is the most photographed in the world.  The challenge of the headlight is to take a different shot.  This week I went to Fort Williams before the sun rise.  I found this view with a tree that I found pleasant.

January 1, 2016

For today, I decided to post my favorite photographs of 2015.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.IMG_0884I just love this squirrel

Photo Friday: Birthday at a landmark.

July 10, 2015

Last week was my birthday, and I was enjoying it at Fort Williams; the home of the Portland Headlight.  This is one of my favorite locations to shoot because it’s a true historical landmark, which was commissioned by George Washington, and the fact that it’s only a couple of miles from my home.

This site is so famous, and beautiful, that words pale in comparison, so I will just post the pictures.  I hope you enjoy them.

Day 8: Look at me now

January 1, 2012

Look at me now

I’m here in the present

To show you the past,

I was built for service

I was built to last.

I’m just a shell now

A skeleton of stone,

Look at me now,

See what I’ve become.

This is why we learn

To view our history,

To learn from our past

And stop the decay

Until the very last.
