Photo Friday: Showing Motion

May 19, 2017

If you like doing photo assignments, or challenges, this came from the Art of Photography on YouTube.  They are worth looking at.  This challenge is to convey motion in a still image.  I’ve done this before, but the shot I took this morning was worth sharing.  I just happened across this snowy egret in Mill Cove, and waited for it to start flying; they are so graceful.  I was able to keep the eye in recognizable focus, while blurring the rest.

Photo Friday: Daily Photo Challenge

December 2, 2016

The way I figure it, if I wish to maximize my photography practice, I need to come up with daily photo challenges.  For my blogs I will pick the best of the week for both days.

I started my first challenge yesterday, and one last night for challenge 2.  The second challenge was better so here it is.  In this challenge I had to do something creative with Christmas lights.  I took a wine glass I used for an earlier school assignment, and positioned the lights at a distance behind it.  I call the piece “Sparkling”.

If you have any ideas for fun photo challenges, let me know.  I will write them down.

First Look Photo: Caption This

August 31, 2016

I took this picture of a squirrel yesterday, and thought it needed a funny caption, but instead of me having all the fun, I thought it would be even more fun if you all came up with the caption.

Good luck, and enjoy the challenge.

Photo Friday: Color Me Puzzled

April 17, 2015

When I was in first grade, I had a 24 day flu.  During the recovery I had a lot of time to watch tv, and do a ton of puzzles.  Since 1976, when I received my first camera, I have tried to take pictures that were not only beautiful, but could be made into challenging puzzles.  I tried contacting Milton Bradley, but they told me they only use photos taken by employees.  What that means is that I am now sitting on thousands of photos that can be used as good puzzles, until I get the right idea how to proceed.

Today’s photograph is one such picture I took this week, as the backdrop for my new phone.  I didn’t realize my phone takes full size, high resolution, pictures, and once I saw it I knew this would be the most challenging puzzle picture I have taken, to date.

I hope you all enjoy it.

Feature Video Friday: Mystery Milkshake!

July 13, 2012

This video came across my YouTube home page yesterday.  About a month ago, Shay Carl Butler, and his brother Casey were brought to a secret shoot Shay’s producer came up with without telling either one what they were in for.

This video is the result of that shoot; be warned, however, it is kind of disgusting, but very funny.
