Photo Friday: Happy Halloween

October 28, 2016

I just finished another section in my photography class, and the assignment was to photograph a still life.  Considering the time of the year, I decided to put an Halloween spin on it.  I think the end product came out to my liking, but I have to admit I had more fun arranging it.

First Look Photo: Ever Cute

October 26, 2016

I know,  I do a lot with squirrels.  They are cute, furry, and everywhere, so they make a perfect subject.  I always seem to catch them in different poses, so here’s another wonderful squirrel pose.

Photo Friday: A Touch of Color

October 21, 2016

Overall, this year’s color changing season has been anticlimactic, but individual trees have had brilliant changes.  In today’s shot, I wanted to show the texture of the tree, and fence, with a little of that brilliant fall color.

First Look Photo: First Frost

October 19, 2016

This week, here in Portland, Maine we saw the first frost of the season.  I consider that a great time to get a few foliage shots.

Here’s one I got as a result.

Today I’m just going to show the picture I took earlier.  It’s self explanatory.

First Look Photo: Fairy Home

October 12, 2016

Mackworth Island is home to some great views, a blind school, and apparently fairies.  There is a section of the woods with a sign asking the visitors to construct homes for resident fairies out of the natural materials found on the island.  There are little shelters everywhere, and some of them are cute, like today’s picture.

Photo Friday: Out of Place?

October 7, 2016

If there is one thing I feel I can pride myself in, it’s the ability to see anything that breaks a pattern.  If something doesn’t seem to fit it becomes a subject for my camera, so when I found a fire hydrant located in the middle of the woods I had to get the shot.

First Look Photo: Bird on a Wire

October 5, 2016

If Maine has a lot of anything, it would be blue jays.  They are everywhere, and they are very noisy, especially when you are trying to avoid waking up.  Beyond those annoyances, they are beautiful, and fun to photograph when they sit still long enough to get the camera to the eye.

This is the shot I got of one the other day.
