This week, I went to a beautiful nature trail with a water fall. While walking on the path, I came across an incident that reminded me that you never have to force nature to cooperate with you.
Some of the best shots I have ever taken of animals have been when nature is free to run its own course. In this instance, I had spotted an eastern black swallowtail, and took a few shots. I was going to move on when the butterfly decided my thumb looked like a good resting spot. It was my right hand, so I couldn’t get the picture. When it took off, I thought it would be fun to stick out my left hand, not expecting much. When the butterfly landed right in my left hand, I started snapping. I ended up with 40 shots before it left, including this week’s picture.
